Our committees and organizations are made up of parishoners who feel passionately about doing the work of our church. We invite you to get involved!

Pastoral Council… An elected body of nine parishioners, the council meets monthly with our pastor to provide direction for parish growth and development.

Administrative… A dedicated group of individuals meet monthly to coordinate the financial plans and budgets as well as oversee the facilities and grounds of St. Bonaventure.

Stewardship… Christ asks us to commit our time, talents and treasure to build his kingdom. The Stewardship committee helps the parish realize these goals. Via monthly meetings and innovative ideas this group continually challenges the parish community to be involved in several activities and with funding those activities.

Liturgy… This group assists Father in the planning of special liturgies; plans and carries out the seasonal decorating of the church sanctuary, and assists in various special projects to involve parishioners in the practice of our faith.

Family Connections… This energetic group involves our teenagers in activities with CYO, TEC and in service projects for the community. New members to the community are greeted with hospitality baskets put together by this group.

CYO… This group of active young parishioners involve themselves in community outreach as well as organizing fellowship activities.

Knights of Columbus… The men of Council #9208 meet monthly at the Knights Hall located on Main Street USA in Marceline. Prayer, fellowship and community service (and excellent fish fry dinners) are all activities for this group.

Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary… These women of Council #9208 support the efforts of the Knights.

St. Anne’s Altar Society… Responsible for the vestments, candles and the upkeep of the sanctuary as well as with sponsoring dinners after funerals, this society involves all women in the parish.

Dinner Theater… An ever popular winter event, this group presents an engaging theatrical production and sit down dinner over a period of successive evenings in late February – early March. Most shows are sold out in advance. Proceeds go to the Home and School Association.

Fr. McCartan School Board… This elected group works with our Principal and Father to direct the activities of our parish school.

Home & School Association… This volunteer group meets monthly to provide help with those extra things to help Fr. McCartan become a better school. This includes several fund raising projects as well as helping to focus volunteer efforts.

Fr. McCartan Foundation… This organization maintains a longer range fund raising position to guarantee the financial stability of our school.

Music Ministries… Music is an important part of our celebration at Mass. St. Bonaventure has several choirs. All voices are welcome.

Care & Concern Committee… Cards for those who are sick, visits for those who are house bound, and that little extra help when needed.

RCIA… Working with adults who desire to become Catholic, our RICA leaders work one on one to make this happen.

Confirmation… The Confirmation team working with our High School Juniors and Seniors to prepare them for reception of this sacrament. Meeting weekly, these young people work hard to develop their faith. Confirmation is celebrated in the spring with our bishop present.
